This year's annual Team Serra BBQ, held on Saturday, August 21st at Eisenhower Park, was a great success once again, with approximately 450 people attending throughout the day - nearly double the amount of students, family and friends at last year's barbecue. The party started at 1pm and rolled on until dark, for over seven hours of great fun, food, family and, of course, the trademark Team Serra spirit.
Some exciting news today from the Huntington Academy. We have two new brown belts and a new blue belt!
Last week, Matt Serra and I (Danny Valle) had the pleasure of visiting Ricardo Almeida at his school in Hamilton, New Jersey. Also in attendance were UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, and Ultimate Fighter competitor Dante Rivera. Ricardo is a long time teammate and great friend to Matt and Nick Serra. We had an awesome training session, and I myself was very fortunate to work with some of the best MMA athletes the UFC has to offer.

The 2nd Annual Serra BJJ BBQ will take place on August 21st at Eisenhower Park from 1-5 pm.
