We had a very special guest visit our Huntington academy who goes by the name of BJ Penn! During our Muay Thai class, BJ walked in to visit our very own Matt Serra and the team. It was an honor to have him stop by and also to check out our new location. Matt Serra gave him a tour of the new facility after BJ Penn came from a book signing for his new book "Why I Fight".

Big thanks to BJ for stopping by to say what's up!

Congrats to Mike Donovan and Rich Guertia for both receiving their blue belt last night in East Meadow. Both promotions are very well deserved and these guys are both model students.

Just read this article over on sherdog.com about the relationship between Matt Serra and Ray Longo entitled "Serra-Longo an Exception to the Rule" and the loyalty that they have that has made for great success over the years. This special relationship and loyalty is extended to both Serra BJJ academies and something we hold in the highest regard.

Matt Serra Victorious at UFC 109!

Big congrats to our very own Matt "The Terror" Serra on his win over Frank Trigg!  Matt won via KO in the first round after throwing a heavy-handed overhand right that landed flush on Trigg's jaw, sending him down to the mat. Matt looked very sharp and aggressive, throwing several body shots and leg kicks in combination. After knocking Trigg to the ground, Matt landed at least three more devastating blows that forced the ref to intervene and end the match.

Congrats on a well deserved victory, can't wait to see Matt in his next fight, hopefully here in New York!
