It's been pretty busy here at Serra BJJ with the new school opening up fairly soon. It's been a minute or two since we've updated everyone on some news... So, congrats to the following on their recent promotions...

First, We have a NEW Black Belt! This one is LONG over due... Congrats to Dan Simmler who FINALLY received his true rank! If there was ever a long over due belt, it's this guy.  Dan is a fantastic BJJ practitioner who is always competing in BJJ Tourneys and tearing up the competition. He always represents Team Serra on the mats and running his own school in Worcester, MA. If you are in the area, be sure to check out his BJJ school at simmlerbjj.com.

Next up we have a few Blue Belts to announce! Congrats to Danny Stofli, Teddy Sheron, and Stevie "Strangler" Squires! Both Teddy and Dan have displayed great dedication to the art and have are model students for our academy.  Great on the mats as they are in character! As for Stevie Squires, who recently celebrated his 16th birthday, the Strangler is taking his training and love for BJJ seriously.  He first came to us at 14 years old and hasn't stopped since.  In his fisrt two tournaments, he has taken the gold medal putting 2 out of 3 opponents to sleep, hence the nick name "strangler"!
