On Sunday November 15th three members of East Meadow’s young Serra Samurai participated at the NAGA grappling tournament in Newark, New Jersey. We would like to congratulate 11 year old Ricky Stamm for his two gold medals in the Kids Beginner and Intermediate divisions. Ricky overwhelmed the competition with his speed, technique and conditioning strength. J.C. Benegas took 3rd place in the 40 – 49 lb weight division, exhibiting excellent take down skills and transitions from side mount, to mount, finishing his opponent with an Americana. Kai Gerves fought two exciting matches in the beginner division. We are proud of all of the children in our new children’s program who have helped make our success possible.
