I'll take half a honey dew melon (seeds removed), 1/3 cup of almonds, 2 bananas, 7-10 ice cubes on thickness preference, teaspoon of honey (optional) and sometimes some almond milk or soy milk and blend it together and it's great. i had one just now for the night class i'm going to and they keep me energized without making me feel heavy and it hydrates me at the same time. i also throw a dash of sea salt a la luke cummo.

anyone else think of something that would make this better? or any personal recipes for smoothies? i'm addicted to blending my food, plus i hear it's better for your digestion.

That sounds great! I'm a huge fan of açai. Luckily, Robeks is on the way to Huntington for me. There are some really good ones Pnut power shake, guava lava, citrus stinger. They're located in the Plainview Shopping Center on S Oyster Bay Rd and Woodbury Rd.

Any supermarket has it. Whole foods up in Jericho is a great place to go. You can make your own too:
1.Place 1 cup freshly roasted almonds in a glass jar.
2.Cover with 4 cups water.
3.Tightly close the jar.
4.Refrigerate for 1 day or no more than 2 days.
5.Pour into blender and blend until smooth.
6.Strain liquid from pulp through cheesecloth, applying pressure to squeeze out all liquid.
7.Retain the almond paste pulp for other uses.
Tips:
1.Use almond milk in recipes or as a delicious drink by itself or with a little honey and vanilla.
2.The almond paste pulp can be used to top cereal, vegetables, or rice.
3.1 pound shelled almonds = 3 cups halves or 4 cups slivered.
Good Luck!
