So what is it like doing Muay Thai? How is that training similar or different from BJJ training here at Serra?

I have been in Serra BJJ during Muay Thai training and one obvious different was the crisp rhythmic sound of kicks and punches landing on the pads. And the punches and kicks seemed to me to be very fast.

It's awesome. It's also a totally different workout. Stand up cardio is very different than rolling cardio. Many people do not understand that you can control the pace with BJJ, especially the Gi. The better guys can roll for hours because they know when and how to conserve their energy. In the Muay Thai classes that we have, the pace pushes you. It also compliments you BJJ in terms of being well rounded but also with your fitness and cardio.

I would highly recommend all of our students to train both Muay Thai and BJJ.
