Last year, Serra BJJ began a tradition of helping out Long Island’s less fortunate by organizing and running a food drive for the holiday season. Together, we donated over 400 pounds of food to Long Island Cares, a local organization dedicated to fighting hunger on the island.

This year, we hope to do even better! Beginning this Friday, October 15, both the Huntington and East Meadow academies will be hosting the SECOND ANNUAL SERRA BJJ HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE. We’re looking to bring in as many food donations as possible for the upcoming holiday season. As an extra incentive to give, give, give, anyone who donates three or more cans of food will be entered in a raffle to win a free month of training! So donate early and often; the more you donate, the more chances you have to win. The food drive will run through November 30.

Some suggestions on holiday-themed items include canned vegetables, canned beans, instant mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, and gravy but you obviously may donate any non-perishable food items you choose. A detailed list will be available at both academies.

Thanks in advance for participating! See you in class.
