I have had each ear drained once. The first time I had it done I was rolling the next day with headgear and it was fine. I wore the head gear for about 2 weeks to be safe. This last time it was a little worse and it needed to be stitched...I was back with headgear in less then a week. If you are a non wrestler and a complete pussy around needles like myself then you definitely should go to an ENT doctor.

By the way 2 big thumbs up for Steve's ears!

I think the real issue with cauliflower ear is that it can cause hearing loss, if there is a lot of swelling.

I wear headgear almost every practice. Try it; it's not bad.

If you get it drained, you won't be able to train, even with headgear, for probably two weeks. If you do it will just swell right back up.

So, headgear. I use the BRUTE ones.

Hey,

Get yourself some EarSplintz. You need to have a good way to apply even pressure when your ears get stressed. This product utilizes clinical techniques to prevent cauliflower ear. www.earsplintz.com
