Practice armbar escapes and applying Triangles...They one day will save your life.

I'm of the tall and lanky breed...You'll soon learn how to use your long lanky limbs to your advantage, it just takes time... As in all body types, they ALL have both positives and negatives...In BJJ, the idea is to force your advantages onto your opponent and expose their weaknesses (disadvantages)..That will come with time on the mats and commitment. If you keep training with all of the talent and great instruction the academy provides, I promise you, it will click quicker then you think.

Thanks Danny, I'm very excited to get started, and I'm ready to get tapped out a million times while I develop my technique. I'm (unfortunately) at a point in my life where I need something positive like this to focus on, and I have a tendency of doing everything obsessively, learning and taking in everything I can... and I expect BJJ to be no different... that's why im gonna drive an hour there to train with the best! Look forward to learning from you all!

I have trained in the past but not in BJJ and I really want to learn that skill on top of my other training. I love this sport as a whole and I alway have even before it went mainstream. I'm extremely interested in training with the best, I just have to figure out how to fix my schedule. I hope to go on and compete and win.

Just wanted to follow up and let you guys know I signed up today, I'm glad to be a part of your family, and look forward to training. I've been made to feel welcome by a few guys already, wanna say thanks to Danny, Steve, and of course Matt for welcoming me and getting me situated with the sign-up. Look forward to learning from all of you on the mats!

I am new here, and do not live in the NY area, so can't drop past. I am a fan of Matt Serra, and sure ehjoyed it when he KO'ed GSP for the UFC Welterweight World Championship - hahaha. I hope to see a repeat of that sort of thing when Mr. Serra has recovered from the spinal injury and is 100% plus again. The destruction of Frank Trigg recently was terrific, too - hahaha.
